History and Backstory

The story of New Danuya takes place in an AU of a scifi world that has been carefully crafted by myself and my sister in an ongoing private RP, which has been running since late 2010. As such, much of the backstory may be hard to convey, and so I intend to explain the relevant parts in this post.

Korya is a planet roughly within reasonable FTL(faster-than-light) travel distance of Earth. It is inhabited by a race known as Koryans, and has five continents, though most of the population has always been concentrated on one- the largest continent, Neya, of which the largest city, and capital of the Koryan Alliance, is Danuya. It sits in the northwest of Neya, and is known to be one of the biggest cities on all the planets of the IPA.

The IPA, or Interplanetary Alliance, consists of a number of varied races, but was begun by an alliance between Koryans and Humans. It was formed in the Earth Year 2976, and the Earth Year numbering system was adopted by the Alliance, and adapted to the Koryan Interplanetary Calendar to form an Alliance-wide standard, as the Koryans had colonized or conquered several planets prior to crossing path with Humans, and therefore had a system of months, days, and so forth that worked well for interplanetary communication, though they didn't always match up with the lengths of such things that Humans were used to.

In 3215, a handful of IPA ships were sent to colonize a planet designated KX-1489552. Six ships, capable of carrying no more than 8 passengers each, are on their way to the planet, led by Commander Aechau Harrua, captain of the Solar Eagle. This is where our story begins.
